On Thursday, September 19, NCSY Israel held their annual Kickoff Event at Hebrew University’s Givat Ram Campus with 140 teens attending.

The Kickoff Event is a highlight each year for NCSY Israel teens who are excited to gather together once again with friends and madrichim after the summer break. The event includes blow up and table games and unlimited pizza and snacks. Avital Levine, a high school senior from Efrat recalled “It was an incredible experience to finally see everyone again after so long, and also get to meet new people! I just enjoyed myself the whole time!”

Alyssa Greenberg and her husband Yaakov are new on staff as NCSY Gush Etzion Chapter Directors. She commented “We had such a blast at the regional Kickoff with all the teens! It was a great opportunity to meet the teens for the first time. We are very excited to get this year started and to get to know everyone more!”

“With crucial support from the Orthodox Union, this year we are beginning on a multi-year plan of expansion with the mission of supporting and inspiring more English-speaking teens in Israel.” said Rabbi Yosef Ginsberg, NCSY Israel Co-Founder and Regional Director. “This year we are launching our Chai department of single-gender programming in addition to our regular NCSY Israel co-ed program. Each of our chapters will also be expanding with more staff and more events to meet the needs of the growing English-speaking teen population.”

“For us at NCSY Israel, the 10th year is more than just a birthday celebration” adds Gavriel Novick, NCSY Israel Development Director. “It is proof and validation that we are addressing a relevant, important need with the correct model and achieving real results. And all of that drives us to do even more.”
